Proud Educators Fundraising Campaign

Proud Educators (PE) seeks to transform schools by supporting the practice of LGBTQ+ educators. We advocate for the freedom of teachers, principals, paras and other school professionals to authentically express their gender identity and sexual orientation in workplaces that are safe and supportive. www.proudeducators.org

Since 2013, beginning as a small group conference at Brooklyn College, PE has been working to uplift educators in their efforts to be effective role-models. Over the last decade we’ve expanded our work by hosting regular events, meetings, story nights and social gatherings for LGBTQ educators in NYC, establishing collaborative partnerships with other queer organizations and institutions - including National Network for Education Renewal (NNER), National Association of Multicultural Education (NAME) and New York Collective of Radical Educators (NYCORE). In 2025 we have joined The Center for LGBTQ Studies: CLAGS.

In July 2025 we will be holding our inaugural Queer Camp -- a 2-day gathering in Brooklyn to join in community, strengthen solidarity, experience fun and play as forms of rejuvenation and share strategies that build power towards thriving in our schools as LGBTQ+ educators.

YOUR DONATION will help us in making Queer Camp a reality for brave queer educators and building towards future years of what we believe will be a valuable collaborative community. In 2026 we aim to expand this effort to collaborate with educators from across the United States collaborating with those in places where visible queerness is prohibited.
